Holla Oldie Moldie Monday

This card started out as a sketch challenge and then it took a detour.  I like how it turned out.  It will bring a smile to my assistant's mother's face.  She had surgery and Sonia will be visiting her this week so she can hand deliver the card.  I will have Sonia help me write a message in Spanish to her Mom.

The "holla" sentiment is from Unity Stamps.  The flowers are from Hero Arts.  The paper - oldie moldie Monday paper - is from Making Memories.  It has pretty paper in it - I should get busy and make some more cards.  The yellow and pink are basics from Bo Bunny that I always have a supply of.  I cut the doily shape with my Silhouette.  I added Glossy Accents to the center of the flowers.  The twill tape was in my supplies.

Remember to show some love for your old supplies.

Hello "CAS(E) This Sketch"

Hello - I make lots of hello cards and I buy lots of hello stamps.  Plus with a Silhouette "do you know how many different Hello's you can cut out".  This is one of the Hello word bubbles.  The paper is from Studio Calico.

I based my card on the sketch at "CAS(E) This Sketch".   I did follow the sketch pretty closely but the card is not very clean and simple.  Too many layers.  Here is the sketch.

This card will go in my next Operation Write Home box.

Thankful Tag

Unity was having a challenge on Facebook to make a tag so I created this tag.  It will go on a card for Thanksgiving.  I really like how it turned out.  The tree is embossed and then the circle which is die cut is colored with Tim Holtz Distress Inks.  I cut the tag and sentiment with my Silhouette.

I am going to enter it on the challenge blog Cut It Up which is to use Circles on your project.

I have been looking for one of these floral frogs to use for holding my projects.  When I was cleaning out my mom's drawers I found this.  I was very happy and this is the first time I have used it.  I really like how it looks.

Studio Calico, TPC Studios and Hero Arts Fuse together

Hello - I fused all those elements together and made a card using the current challenge on Fusion Card Challenge.  It is a fun challenge because you can fuse the picture and sketch or do the sketch or use the picture as a jump start to your creativity.

I used the sketch for my card and then I took the cup/mug image and the colors for my card.  The colors are a little loose but it is red, it is green and there is some blue.  The paper is from Studio Calico, the mug is a stamp from TPC Studios which I paper pieced.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.  I cut the banners with my Silhouette.

I also am entering it in a new challenge blog I found called Cut It Up - the challenge this week is "Going In Circles.  You need to use a die cut on your card.  My circles were die cut and also the banners with die cut.
I traced around the banners with a black sharpie because they needed to be grounded.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Thanksgiving

I know - be jealous - I have 2 thanksgiving cards done.  Of course the secret is to not misplace them before I need to mail them.  I need to finish the insides also since the paper is still out.  I let the patterned paper do all the talking on this card.  I did add Stickles and Glossy Accents to some of the leaves to give them a little depth.  I created the sentiment on my computer.  The paper is the fall grouping from Little Yellow Bicycle.

The cards is based on the weekly sketch from Retro Sketches.

Don't be jealous of this - I am not working tomorrow.  The piano is being moved to my daughters tomorrow-  It will be nice for her to have it and play it.  I will enjoy not having it in my living room.

Celebrate Autumn

It is that time of the year when the leaves start changing colors, the temps drop, fall is coming and winter will soon come - where did that come from.  Let us not think about Winter.  Let us enjoy the beauty of Fall.

My card today is based on the challenge on CAS-ual Friday to make a card with fall colors and a leaf.

This paper is from Authentique.  The leaf was cut with my Silhouette and I then colored it with chalk, Big Marker and Distress Paints.  After it was dry I rubbed some cinnamon colored Stickles over the top.  The sentiment is from SRM Stickers.

Happy fall and Happy Sunday.

Sympathy Card

A co worker's sister passed away so I made a sympathy card from the office.  This is a 5.5 inch square card.  I made it with paper from Authentique.  This is actually the 2nd card I made - I decided the first was too feminine to give to a guy.  Of course, I could save it - but I finish the inside with extra name signing places.

Maybe I will send it to Paper Crafts World Card Making Day contest.  I am thinking about it - I wonder if sympathy cards are one of the categories.

Oldie Moldie Monday

Oldie Moldie Monday - time to show some love for some older paper.  I chose to use this holiday paper - I thought the little skiers would be perfect winter cards - not specifically Christmas cards - I made a total of four cards.  I made two like the top card.

These cards will go into my next Operation Write Home box.  The Friday Mashup (one of the choices) was to make cards for a charity or organization of your choice.  There are so many organizations to donate our cards to - Operation Write Home - receives the majority of my cards.

Thanks for stopping by and remember to show some love to your old supplies and find a good cause to donate your extra cards too.

American Crafts and Whipper Snapper Designs Unite

It is raining today so had to take my picture inside.  We really need the rain so I am not going to complain.  It is a pretty gentle one so that helps it soak into the ground.

My card is for Operation Write Home.  It is a card for a child.  The Paper Players challenge this week is to make a card for a child.  I colored two of this image - this one was colored so it would work for a little boy. The hearts have glossy accents on them.

The design of the card is based on the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.  I have been admiring this sketch since Tuesday and have wanted to make a card.  Finally today I got one made.

Everyone enjoy your Sunday.  I have lots to do.  I am going to watch football but also need to get some work done.  I also need to make a sympathy card.  My Oldie Moldie Monday cards are made - I have four of them done for Operation Write Home.  Come back tomorrow to see those.

Hero Arts, Simple Stories, SRM Stickers and Operation Write Home

The monthly Our Daily Bread Designs challenge for September for Operation Write Home is "wheels"   Our Daily Bread Designs very graciously pay for shipping for a box of cards for each 25 entries - up to 2 boxes.  This is very generous of them because every month we reach a minimum of 50 cards.  My bike has two wheels.

This card could be an anniversary or love card - symbolized by the bike built for two.  I fussy cut out the banners from patterned paper.  The Bike stamp is from Hero Arts.  The "love" stamp is from American Crafts - an Amy Tangerine collection of stamps.  The paper is from Simple Stories and the celebrate is a sticker from SRM Stickers.

Another card using the same supplies as yesterday's card.  I just used a different layout.  This card will be for my Mom for her birthday.  She will be 94 October 12.  I try to send her a card every day of her birthday week.

Enjoy your day.

First Time - Fusion Card Challenge

I was visiting a friends blog and I saw where she had done a challenge from the Fusion Card Challenge blog.  I had to go check it out.  This week looked like fun.  The little owl spoke to me because when I was visiting my daughter a couple weeks ago in Alaska she kept point owl stuff out to me.  This is her birthday card - a little belated - but I think she will understand.

I also kinda followed the sketch.  A rectangle not an oval and a long sentiment rather than a circle.  The general idea is there.  I should have added some text stamping to the owl rectangle.

The paper is from Basic Grey (Hipster).  The stamp is a $1 Studio G stamp - I have got my money's worth out of this stamp.  The sentiment is a sticker from SRM Stickers.

I am excited to try the Fusion Challenge again.

Oldie Moldie Monday

I found this paper grouping from Fiskar's in a box and decided it would make great Operation Write Home cards.  General winter hello cards.

The stamp is even old.  The thing I love about snowmen is that they are really pretty easy to cover.  The sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts - it is fast becoming a favorite.

Remember to show some love for your old supplies.

Moosing You

This is a small canvas I made for my daughter and son in law when I visited them in Alaska.  The moose is cut with my Silhouette.  The trees are stickers I have had for ages.

Had lots of fun adding all the layers.

Trying to get back in the swing of being creative.  Slow but sure.

Oldie Moldie Monday Returns

I did miss posting a card last week on Monday.  I do have a good excuse though - I was in Alaska visiting my youngest daughter.  I had a wonderful visit and saw so many things.  She was an excellent tour guide - I do see why they like it there.

I came home and went to Michael's and bought this new stamp.  It is a new stamp for 2013 from Stampendous.  How cute are those little penguins?  I am not making any Christmas cards for Operation Write Home but am just doing general winter cards.  Been occupied with my trip and redecorating so haven't had as much time for making cards.  This is some old paper I have sitting around - trying to use some of it up.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

Enjoy your day - tomorrow - reality - back to work.
