Oldie Moldie Monday

Good Monday afternoon - it is Memorial Day - a day to remember our fallen soldiers and the sacrifices they made for our country.

I have three cards to share with you today. They are all for Operation Write Home. I used up the last pieces of this paper - the pieces that are left are going in the scrap bag. I got three cards left from the leftovers. It was not the paper I was going to use today for Oldie Moldie Monday - but they showed up on my table and were used. I have colored about 6 of these little robots - pretty easy to color so it made making the cards pretty fast.

I chalked the background of the robots in either green or blue so it wasn't so white. I even chalked the edges of some of the papers. Chalking gives a softer look than inking the edges does.

I hope you enjoyed my cards. Dig out some of your old paper or scraps and make some cards. See how creative you can be.

Everyone enjoy the remainder of your day. We have summer today in Wisconsin. Almost 90 degrees. The lawn is mowed, a little snooze was taken and I need to write out a couple bills and do a load of laundry. Maybe I can get some more cards made today.

Happy Memorial Day

Good morning – welcome to my stop on the hop. Hopefully you came from Deborah’s blog. If you get lost, just click on the image at the top of the page and it will take you home – just like Dorothy clicking the heels of her red shoes. I am glad you were able to stop by and check out my card.

I found this great collection by My Minds Eye and wanted to use it on my card. Luckily Hobby Lobby had their stamps on sale last week – so I got this Miss You stamp – I know I will get lots of great use out of it. Hearts and stars dedicated to our heroes. I love having the Spellbinders to use for my hearts and the stars is a big die cut from Sizzix.

Thanks for visiting today – your next stop on the hop is Darlene – Expression by Da.

Thanks to all the cardmakers who make Operation Write Home such a wonderful success.

Hump Day - yeah

Good Wednesday evening. We are now on the downward slide to the week end - and it is a three day week end - yeah - I have so much that I need to get done - it is raining lots here and then you have to mow, and then mow again, and then mow again. Keeps you busy. I am still working in my flower gardens and get them weeded.

I am sharing a card I made for my daughter. She is running her first marathon this week end so I wanted to let me know how proud I am of her. I found this image on the internet but then I added some beautiful paper so I hope it doesn't look too sporty.

Everyone have a good evening - I am trying to find a couple tables in my card making area - I have a friend coming over to scrapbook on Saturday - I gave her a scrapbook when her baby was born - so we are going to start working on it. Of course, the baby is coming so I will hopefully get lots of snuggling time in.

Oldie Moldie Monday

I have finally used up the majority of this pad of paper - the remainder is going in the scrap bag. I never want to see it again. I have been trying to use this paper up for over a year. Goal accomplished.

I do like the cards I made with it. I had two pieces of 6 x 6 that had bicycle images on it - so I had to find an appropriate image to go with the paper - I found this great banana seat bike on the internet - and it was in the right colors - my little owl and birdie worked in well for a couple more cards. The paper is from a 6 x 6 pad from Basic Grey. The stickers are from Mrs. Grossman. The owl stamp is from stampendous.

These cards are for Operation Write Home - guaranteed smiles. The cards fit in with the midweek challenge on Stars and Stamps - OWH card blog - summer fun - what is more fun than a bike.

Stop by this week end - Operation Write Home is having a big blog hop for Memorial Day week end - it starts on Saturday. I guess I must get busy and come up with a wonderful card.

Everyone enjoy your evening.

You're a Real Fun-Gi

The card is based on the sketch at Clean and Simple Stamping. I struggle with clean and simple - so I try to do their sketches - less is more and you can make some very beautiful cards. I do like how this card turned out.

This is a new stamp I bought from Unity Stamp. Not very expensive but I will get lots of cards made with it. Lots of smiles from the cards I will make for Operation Write Home. This is some new paper I had bought in a pack - it is fron - My Mind's Eye.

I did get one flower garden cleaned up today. It is rainy here in Wisconsin - I need to mow my lawn also. Maybe tomorrow - I also need to go to work for a few hours. Don't want to - but if I wish to remain somewhat calm this week - a few hours of work is needed.

Enjoy the remainder of your evening and week end.

Things that Fly

I colored some of these images last week and finally got at least one card made out of the colored images. It is a cute image.

The midweek challenge on Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps was Things that Fly - and yes the owl and bird do fly - I was going to make a bee card but it dawned on me - birds fly - can you tell it has been a rough week.

I am still using some more of the oldie moldie paper that I started the week with - I would love to use up that pad and get it gone - of course there are about 20 to take its place - I have not met many 6 x 6 pads I could resist. I have resisted a couple.

Everyone have a wonderful evening.

Oldie Moldie Monday

Good morning - very early good morning - for some reason not able to sleep so thought if I got up for a little while I could then go back and catch a couple more hours of zzzzz's. If anything is spelled wrong i I apologize - the eyes are not open or seeing too well yet.

Today is Oldie Moldie Monday - time to show some love for some of your old supplies - and Of course you always have lots because there is always a new sheet of paper or stamp that calls your name when you go in the store.

I have been working on this particular 6 x 6 pad of Basic Grey paper for quite awhile - yesterday's post used some of this paper and so does tomorrow's. I also am working on a sheet of Mrs. Grossman Stickers. Last week's oldie moldie Monday cards used the same paper and set of stickers.

The card with the embossed strips of paper are for the weekly sketch on Operation Write Home's blog Stars and Stamps. I also used some star eyelets I had - of course - once I started I realized I did not have enough of one color in the larger size so we used all different colors. The sticker is pop dotted. The Happy Birthday card - used a couple different color brads.

Everyone have a wonderful day.

Yeah - it is Sunday

Good afternoon - finally found some time to make a few cards. Come back tomorrow to see the other two cards I have already made. They will be my oldie moldie Monday cards.

There is a new challenge blog - CAS-ual Fridays - 2nd challenge is to use baker's twine and buttons and keep it simple. I struggle with simple so I think I did an OK job with this card. My twine is from Martha Stewart and the buttons are from my collection.

This card is for Operation Write Home. Operation Write Home has mailed 1 million cards overseas to heros to mail back home to their loved ones. Congrats to them - I am so proud to be a small pebble in this wonderful organization. One million cards means so many more millions of smiles. If you have some spare supplies (I know you do) and just a little time you could make some cards for Operation Write Home. Stop by their home page to see more about them. They also have a blog in which challenges are hosted each week - Sunday is a sketch, another challenge on Wednesday and usually a tutorial on Tuesday.

The paper from this card is from a very old 6 x 6 pad of Basic Grey paper that I am trying to use up. The stamp is a $1 stamp I think I bought at Michael's - I thought it had such wonderful simplicity but what opportunity for embellishment in the middle of that flower.

Everyone have a wonderful day - my body says it would like to have a little nap but I don't think it would be wise to listen.

Fabulous Friday

Why is Friday fabulous - because I am home - it is almost over. Now to conquer Saturday and come out on the successful side.

Tonight's card is an anniversary card for one of my daughter's - I have no idea how many years it has been. Both my daughters got married the same year.

The card is very loosely based on the sketch at Card Positioning System - loosely. The paper is from Fancy Pants Designs. Fun colors. The sentiment is a free digi from Doodle Pantry - I have a couple more sentiments of theirs I am excited to use.

Sunday I hope to relax and spend some time enjoying some paper therapy. I do need to mow my lawn but it is suppose to be raining - Monday I will have to make hay. Everyone enjoy your evening and I hope Sunday I have some cards to share - I do know what Monday's oldie moldie Monday card will be.

Oldie Moldie Monday

Better late than never for posting for Oldie Moldie Monday. I was on the road this week end so did not get any card making done.

It felt good to have some paper therapy tonight. I did dirt therapy over the week end cleaning on my Mom's flower gardens. Both therapies are good in their own ways.

This is an old grouping of paper from Basic Grey. I had these stickers and thought they picked up some of the colors in the paper. Great cards for Operation Write Home - just think whoever gets this card - will have a big smile on their face.

Have you made a card or cards for Operation Write Home? Or if you are not a cardmaker - how about writing a Hero Note. Do you realize OWH is fast approaching 1000000 - yes 1 million cards created and mailed overseas. Wow!! How many smiles is that - how many people's lives have been touched by those one million cards. Oh yes - more than a million.

Just Chikin In

Just chiken in with all of you to share a card I made using a Rooster image from I Brake for Digis. Isn't that a great rooster. I tried to color the rooster so it looked like an exotic chicken - did I achieve that.

I was trying to be PUNY also. Kinda makes you groan doesn't it. But hopefully it brings a smile to the recipient.

Everyone enjoy your evening - making a taco salad for a potluck at work tomorrow - getting all the ingredients together.

Oldie Moldie Monday

Good evening - time to show your old paper some love.

This is a pad of Basic Grey I have had for a few years - I have made many cards out of the pad and would like to use it up. I did get three cards made last night - two have the puppy dog on them and then the Happy card. I had that Happy hanging out in the pad and had a brainstorm to back it with a contrast so it would show up. Added a few more Happies to the sentiment strip. I like how the cards turned out

The cards are for Operation Write Home. They will bring smiles to many people. The dog image is a digi designed by Sandy Allnock, founder of Operation Write Home, there are lots of free digis on the Operation Write Home site. Come check them out and make a few cards for our troops to send home.

Everyone have a wonderful evening.

Mo Jo Missing - Please return

Good Sunday afternoon - blustery day in Wisconsin - it is warmish but with the breeze it is sorta cold.

I haven't had much Mo Jo lately for creating so sorry for lack of posts. I need to get Mother Day cards made, birthday cards made and I need to step up my production of cards for Operation Write Home. I think I can - I think I can.

I have spent the week end with a friend - shopping and creating, Very enjoyable day. I did get a few new things to create with - I know - I don't need anymore things to create with - but it is oh so fun. How about 3 new pair of shoes - I love shoes -

My card that I am sharing is very loosely based on the weekly sketch on Stars and Stripes card blog for Operation Write Home - notice I said loosely - the flower was a tag on the card. I left it without a sentiment so the card can be used for any occasion.

Well I think I will go throw in some laundry and see if I can make a birthday card. I need one this week. Everyone enjoy the remainder of your week end.
