Happy Birthday

This is a card I did for a same image swap at Cococat's Cardmaking. Same image is sent to a group of us - we all do our own thing and send the card to someone in the swap.

I was sorting through supplies to get ready for a garage sale at a LSS and I found the cute brad - I kept that package - I thought I could have some fun with them - Around the Block is the brand. I think from the photo you can tell the matted image overlaps the inside. Colored the image with Prismacolors and Gamsol. Added some Stickles for a little sparkle. Paper is Basic Grey. I believe the big rick rack is Wrights - decided to use a stapler to keep the bulk down. I hope the person who gets it enjoys it.

Oldie Moldie Monday

A quick card for my daughter's stepson. I only have golf stamps if I wish to make a card for a guy. Tyler likes to fish.
Dug through the box of Basic Grey and found this paper - I do hope BG comes out with another line that is good to use for masculine designs. The Wish is the "negative" from a QuiKutz die - thought with the big fish it was a good sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Birthday Emily

Sunday - the week end is over - and back to work - oh yuck - no creativity this week end here - I did do some cooking so that is a form of creating. Texas Cavier and Puppy Chow. Going to a birthday party for two of her husband's kids - it was a good day - I had heard of a new store but did not make the right turns so missed it - next time I am down there - I will try again.

Been packaging up things for a scrapbook garage sale. I can only take 60 items - yikes - that does not even make a dent in my stuff. Oh well - it will be 60 items gone.

This card for for Emily, she was turning 12 - going into 7th grade. She is turning into a young lady. The image is one I was sent in a swap - later in the week you will see the other card I made with the same image. Basic Grey was the paper. Used the Cuddlebug. The brad is some that I found when I was clearing things out. I think I will keep these. I colored the image with Prismacolors and Gamsol. Of course, you had to add some Stickles.

Come back tomorrow - oldie moldie Monday - Tyler's birthday card.

Saturday - where did the week go

Hopefully 3rd time is a charm to get this card posted. Blogger and I are not friends tonight.
This card was done for the challenge at Caardvarks. Caardvarks is a card challenge blog. Fun place to visit. This challenge is two sketches done by the two young women over at
2 Sketches 4 You - Laura and Kazan. They have a sketch on their site each Monday.

My card is based on Laura's sketch.

Paper and Brad- Kaiser Scrapbooking
Rub on - Imaginisce
Fiskar's Border Punch
Sizzix die cut for flower - it started out light blue - amazing what a little ink can do.
Ink - Colorbox Chalk Ink by Clearsnap
Stickles by Ranger

Now it is Tuesday

Sorry not the greatest picture in the world. Should have redone it. This is a 6 x 6 recipe page for a recipe swap I was in. These are fun to do - I was very pleased with my page.

When we do the swap - we always bring our dish to pass - from the first time I did it - I realized there was way too much food - so I packaged my puppy chow in plastic bags and everyone could take their sample home with them to munch on when they wished.

In case you can read the recipe - it is
8 cups Rice Chex
1/2 cup Peanut Butter
1 cup chocolate chips
1 stick butter/margarine
2 cups powdered sugar

Melt peanut butter, chocolate chips and butter. Pour over the Rice Chex. Mix to coat cereal. I put my powdered sugar into a brown paper grocery bag and pour coated cereal in bag - I then go into the garage and shake it up until the cereal is covered. I would not want that bag to break in my house - that is why I do it in the garage - but if you want to live on the wild side - go for it - shake in the house.

Yes it is Tuesday - but really Oldy Moldy Monday

I was going to post last night but about the time I was going to do it - a thunder storm came through so I turned off the computer - so tonight you get the card for oldie moldie Monday.
This card is based on the sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You - loosely based on the sketch.
The image is a playing card - they were in the Dollar Bin at JoAnn's. Who could resist this - and what a fun image to base a card on. The paper is old - Cactus Pink - I don' even know if this paper company is still around. Added a cuddlebug embossed star under the flowers - the yellow brad is to pick up on the yellow in the card - the bling balances off the flower.
Enjoy - come back - I am going to post for Tuesday.

Happy Sunday

HELLO - it is Sunday - and yes I am happy - I took Monday off work to spend the day with a friend - seems like forever since we have done anything together. Plus at the end of the day I get my hair cut - yeah. Was on the road this week end so not much creating done. I came home and decided I wanted to do a challenge to see if I could get any creative juices running - well they are pretty sluggish - finally a card emerged.
The sketch challenge is from Card Positioning System - every Sunday they have a new sketch for you. Hope you enjoy my version.
Paper - Basic Grey
Stamp - Great Impressions
Ink - Colorbox Chalk Ink
Die cut by Sizzix - wish the rick rack was wider - note that I used the negative to do some trim work

Everyone enjoy their Saturday.

Happy Birthday Ivanka

Now that the birthday card has arrived at its destination I can post it. It is a square card - I don't remember if it 6" square or 5.25" square card - made it awhile ago.

Paper - Kaiser Scrapbook
Brad - Kaiser Scrapbook
Rub On - Imganisce

Fussy cut out the big flower out of coordinating paper - I then cut strips of the little flowered paper and added it to the striped paper. Made a world of difference. I am sure I inked the edges of the paper.

She said she liked her card - I think it is hard to make a card for a fellow cardmaker.

Went to little league baseball game tonight right after work. My neighbor boy was playing - his team won so they play again on Thursday night. Might be able to make the first game if I get everything done for the recipe swap tomorrow night. Otherwise - no creativity here tonight.

This is a card I made awhile ago which I have never posted so I don't even remember for sure on things. I think the paper is from DreamStreets. The stamp is from Stampin' Place -I think - unmounted rubber - so I couldn't tell you for sure - I think it is fun. It is stamped on cork paper. I do remember I attempted to color the image - well that did not work so just plain old one color stamping on this one. Hope it brigns a smile to your face -

Hopefully tomorrow night I can share my recipe page for the swap I am in - have to make a bunch of puppy chow tomorrow night.

Monday, Again

Don't you prefer Fridays over Monday - I sure do but gotta work so you can buy paper and stamps. Had to run errands after work - I am participating in a recipe page exchange this week so I had to pick up my stuff to make my recipe - I will post my page later in the week - I like how it turned out.

Tonight's card is based on the sketch at Card Positioning System. I used some paper I have had for awhile Basic Grey - so this card also qualifies for oldie moldie Monday. For the curved portion of the card - I let the patterned paper provide my curves - I fussy cut the paper. I stitched the layers together - what bad stitching - I am so ashamed - I use to be quite an accomplished seamstress in a former life. Must be the machine. The rub on is by October Afternoon. The flower is a Sizzix die cut. The bottom layer is a Heidi Swap flower- 2 layers of a patterned paper, a layer of felt to add extra depth and texture. The brad in the middle is painted and a crackle finish is done on it.

Cards for Troops

I got an email from Cards Magazine - they are once again doing a call for cards for the troops. We did this last year at Simply Sentiments and I coordinated it - I had a local stamp store that also contributed cards - and I mailed out 70 pounds of cards to a Marine Troop. I was glad to see another call for cards for the troops - plus I did not have to coordinate it - I could make some cards and send them to someone.
If you are interested in sending in cards - here is the address -
Northridge Media
563 East 770
NorthOrem, UT 84097
Here are some hints from my experience last year -
keep the cards fairly flat for mailing purposes,
include an envelope
if you have a dark card base - make sure you put a light writing surface on the inside
do not use glitter
This is my first card that I am going to do - I can get six cards out of a 12 x 12 sheet of patterned paper. sew the stamped layers together, mat on the patterned paper and attach to your card base.
Every one have a wonderful evening. Too bad we have to go back to work tomorrow.

What a Slackard I am

I was so good last week and posted every day - but this week - I guess I have been a slackard - sorry about that. I was babysitting last night so I was just a little busy. Big tunder boomers here tonight - hit a transformer across the street - guess it was lots of sparks, etc. Glad it was over there - they just got power back on.
The card I am posting was based on the sketch at Card Position Systems It started out as a long card but there was too much naked space, and then I had these tags that were with this paper and it morphed into a 4 x 6 card - I really like my card but - but - it is not the design - the trees represent the row of items across the top.
Bazzill Bling
Patterned paper - Reminisce
Rub On Pebbles Inc
Bling - it was just hanging out in the xmas stuff - so it is unknown
Ribbon - May Art
Tag - discontinued Sizzix die cut
Colorbox Chalk Ink
Stickles by Ranger (added to stars on top of the tree)
Sakura Pen (added stitch lines around card, tag, etc.
Everyone enjoy the remainder of your evening - I have taken all the Fridays in July off - so yeah - no work tomorrow - but it is suppose to be almost 90 with high humidity - don't think I will be doing much outside or any errands - stay home, inside where it is cool - good excuse to make a card.

Monday, Monday, Monday

It was Monday - another Monday another dime - use to be a dollar but that went bye bye - I saw gas over $4.00 tonight when I ran into Janesville - yikes - that seriously cuts into my paper shopping and driving to do paper shopping. I find the best way to not spend money is to stay home - returned something at Target so I walked back - or was walking back to the scrapbook stuff - detoured through the dollar spot - found some cute gingham brads - those will be fun to use on some cards in the future - but I detoured through the kids clothes - I have no grandchildren but I do have a niece that is 5 - so Aunty Barb was looking at the clearance - A$40 later - I left the store - the child needs no more tops to start school but it was fun and she loves her clothes. It is hot and steamy here and it looks like the entire week is going to be that way.

My card for the evening - is for Oldie Moldie Monday - dig into that old paper - come on - I know you have some - a couple sheets at least. I also had the sticker - I had seen a card somewhere in my surfing the net that used this same sticker - and it reminded me that I had one - the card is based on a sketch at Triple the Sketch I have had fun doing sketches lately. I do believe I have many friends that I could send this card to.

Scalloped card base - Bazzill scalloped cardstock
Patterned Paper - Basic Grey
Sticker - Basic Grey
Rub on - K&Company
Flower - bottom is Imaginisce™
Paper layers - sizzix die cut
Brad Imaginisce™ which I covered with two layers of small circles I punched out in colors that matched the card - painted some Sparkle ModPodge over the top.
Sewed some of the layers together to pick up on the stitched look on sticker

Thanks for stopping by and checking it out. Everyone have a wonderful evening and a great Tuesday.

That's What Friends are Four

As many of us do, I have some of the best friends in the world. You really don't know how much you appreciate your friends or how wonderful your friends are until something "bad" happens in your life. I can say that five yars ago my friends came out and drug me through one of the worse periods of my life - so this card is for all our friends - that make our lives so special. Friendship - not for the weak of heart.
This card is the sketch challenge at Taylored Expressions. It is her Friday Cupcake challenge - well no cupcakes but an image. I made the card a square card (6 inches). I wantd to used some things I have had for awhile - the stamp, paper, rub ons, and my new Fiskar's punch - threading water (is that the name - sure doesn't sound right) - doesn't it make a cute edge. I hope you enjoy my take on the sketch.
Patterned paper: Crate Paper - Katlin Collection
Stamp - Stampendous - stamped on watercolor paper
Colored with Twinkling H2O's
Rub Ons - Kaiser Scrapbook
Prima Flowers
QuicKutz scallop border die cut

Something to Crow About

Well I could crow this week - that I actually posted something on my blog every day this week - amazing but very fulfilling - I should keep this up - the challenges have helped immensely.
So we have a challenge on Caardvarks for ON THE FARM. Isn't that a moovelous challenge. Sorry - that little sentiment just snuck in there. Of course - I do have lots of cards on my blog that have farm animals on them - check these out - Holy Cow, Pig Fest, Another Pig Fest, Chicken, Just Chicken In. Can you tell I was raised on a farm in the great state of Wisconsin. I am sure there are more. I did a cow last week from a local stamp company.
So here is the information for this card. It is a different size for me - 3.375 x 6.
Patterned Paper: Reminisce
Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper
Inks: ColorBox Fluid Chalk Inkpad by Clearsnap, Inc.
Brads: Paper Studio
Ribbon: Offray
Rub On: Rusty Pickle
Pen: Sakura

Pop Dots by All Night Media®

Head on over to Caardvarks - have some fun on the farm.

Happy Fourth of July

I do wish I had a patriotic card to post - but alas I don't. Everyone have a safe 4th of July.
The card I am sharing today is one I did for a "one on one swap" over on Cococat's Cardmaking site, I do not know the stamp company. It was colored wtih prismacolors with gamsol. The paper is American Crafts - on the polka dots on the background paper - I placed Stickles on each little dot - the clear Stickles. It give the card some bling. The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby - just took the wire out but the colors were perfect. It is one its way to someone special.

A Day Off From Work

A 4 day week end - wow - but I will spend two days on the road visiting my Mom but I do love those days when I am home - do all the things you want to do - or don't want to do but have time to do. I need to go run errands. Need to get to the post office and mail a couple things and get stamps, Walmart run for those basics, and of course, must stop at the scrapbook store and get some "paper therapy". May even make the trip across town to the stamp store.

Everyone enjoy your day today - whether you are working or playing.

This card is two challenges (I am doing challenges this week and just having fun creating cards).
The first challenge was to use Basic Grey paper - and when you have an tired 12 x 4 container of Basic Grey paper - I imagine I could make cards for at lea st a year or two - that challenge can be found at this site - Our Creative Corner - just found this site yesterday. It will be exciting to check their challenges each week.

The other challenge was a sketch - first time I have participated in one of their sketches -
Sketch This. It is a sketch that you can use on a scrapbook page or a card.

I hope you enjoy my take on both of these challenges. I love to do non traditional "holiday or snow" cards - the non traditional being the papers used. The little snowman is a little hard to see in the picture - but it is a very soft/peaceful thank you card for the winter months.

Stamp - Stampendous!
Background stamp - hard to see snowflakes on pink card base - Great Impressions
Ink and Embossing Powder - VersaMark and Embossing tinsel (Snowflake) by Ranger
ColorBox Chalk Ink by Clearsnap - background stamp on card base and inked edges of paper
Paper - Basic Grey Two Scoops
Stickers - Making Memories - rub a little ink on them to make them match the color tones of the card
Rub Ons - Me and my Big Ideas - love these snowflake rub ons
3 D Stickers - Sandylion

June was dairy month

I was thinking - a cow card - just perfect for June Dairy month - then I realized - it is July - I probably should have put a firecracker in her mouth. Where did June go - obviously I worked way too hard during the month of June.

I am continuing to play with this paper pad from Making Memories - what can I say - I probably only have about a thousand more cards that could be made - maybe I should give it a rest and put it back on the shelf for another day.

This is a card based on the sketch at Poetic Artistry - Mo Jo Monday

Paper - Making Memories

Stamps - Crackerbox Palace, Janesville WI (Cow) Sentiment - Hero Arts

Bling - Target Dollar Spot (going to miss those pink flwoers when I have used them all up)

I hope you enjoy my take on the sketch.

Enjoy your evening - I have started my week end tonight so looking forward to 4 days off.

Oh Baby Girl

Made this card for the sketch challenge on 2 Sketches 4 You Every Monday they have a new sketch for you - go check them out.
Nothing exciting to report here - beautiful day weather wise - quiet day at work - love those days and I work tomorrow and then I am off until next Monday - a long week end - maybe I will get something done - yeah right. My furnace will get its yearly check up - so I guess that is important.
Card details - 4.25 x 5.5
Paper - Imaginisce
Scallop - QuicKutz 12 inch scallop (use it in my Cuddlebug - only need 6 inches cut so works fine)
Added layer of eyelet under scallop - removed the gathering so it would lay flat.
Flowers - Prima and American Crafts
Everyone have a wonderful evening.
